You may reach Turku by air via Helsinki, Stockholm or Copenhagen. The Turku airport is an international airport approximately 8 kilometres north of Turku city centre. City buses run frequently between the airport and city centre, from early morning until late evening (fare 3€). Taxi to the city centre costs around 25€.

Turku may also be reached from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport by a regular coach connection, which takes about 2½ hours. For timetables and fares, see Matkahuolto.fi. The fare is about 25€. There are also frequent train connections from Helsinki which take about 2 hours to Turku. (Citybus from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to the Helsinki Train Station runs frequently.) For timetables and fares of train connection, see the webpages of the Finnish Railways.

Finland can also be reached by ferry boats (Viking Line, Tallink Silja) which bring you comfortably from Stockholm (Sweden) to Turku. The harbour is approx. 3,5 km from the city centre, and city buses operate frequently between the harbour and city centre (fare 3€).

From the Baltic countries, ferries operate between Tallinn (Estonia) and Helsinki (see above how to get from Helsinki to Turku). For timetables and fares, see Viking Line and Tallink Silja, and for bus connections see Matkahuolto.fi.
